Most Ridgeway battery operated movements are equipped with German designed, "Kieninger" mechanism.
Standard features of this mechanism:

Westminster, Ode to Joy or Ave Maria melody on quarter-hours and strikes out the hours.

Volume control allows you to select desired sound level.
Programmable automatic night-time chime shut-off or night-time chime volume reducer for 8 hours is available.

Programmable Night-time silencer automatically quiets chimes (half-the-volume) during sleeping hours.

Quarter hour melodies can be turned off, allowing mechanism to chime only on the full hour.

Requires two "C" batteries. Please use only ALKALINE batteries (we recommend Energizer or Duracell brand).
